ISI articles in the field of computer science and mathematics
The research vice chancellor at the faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics announced the production of 90 ISI articles in 2016 in this faculty.
According to Amirkabir University of Technology’s Public Relations Department: Dr. Dariush Kiani, the research vice chancellor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, said: “The College of Computer Science and Mathematics is considered to be a major faculty in industrial universities, and students at this university can conduct in-depth and accurate research activities to aid technology.
Referring to the recent one-year activities of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of Amirkabir University of Technology, Kiani said: “One of our perspectives is the compilation of ISI articles and we have been able to produce high-quality articles.
He mentioned that so far, we have produced nearly 90 ISI articles, and he noted: “Holding workshops, conferences and national and international schools have been some other activities of the faculty over the past year. The Faculty of Mathematics has had a very strong performance in the past year.”
According to him, we were able to hold a winter school and 8 seminars and conferences and international workshops last year.
Mentioning that we held the eighth seminar on geometry and topology in which five of the outstanding professors attended, he said that these experts who are renowned in the field of geometry and topology were from Germany, France, England and Hungary.
He added: “We also organized the first big data mathematics and statistics workshop in which 9 people from France and Germany attended.
Kiani noted: We held the first two-day annual actuarial science and financial engineering workshop that was attended by the University of UK, and the secretary of the workshop was also from this university. Five of the leading researchers in this field also attended the workshop.
He continued: The 9th Graph Theory and Algebraic Combinations Conference also took place during the last year, with 4 of the most prominent Iranian professors present as the attendee at the conference, and also about 130 participants from major universities.
Kiani added that the statistics and clustering workshop, along with implementation, was held and attended by two German invitees.
Mentioning the Winter School in 2016, he said: “We established the 9th Winter School in the field of commutative algebra, in which 3 outstanding international scholars attended.
He added:. The faculty also succeeded in organizing a combinatorial workshop, in which 80 faculty members were present, and we had one guest speaker from the international university of Germany at this workshop.
According to Kiani, all departments of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science hold different seminars with the presence of speakers from inside and outside the university each Monday.
He stated: The Faculty Department has a joint course with the University of Paris in France entitled “Applied Statistics and Computing,” which has two workshops with four faculty members at the University of Paris each year.IN addition, the statistics group was the organizer of the first big data conference which is being held in collaboration with the Faculty of Computer and Electrical engineering.
He commented on the international projects of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, saying: The geometry and architecture project was carried out with the international Iranian-Swedish company, and we are also negotiating for its continuation.
The faculty, with its unique expertise in network optimization, modeling and analysis, has so far been able to play an important role in projects related to the design of a fast transportation network in Tehran and throughout the country. School specialties in the field of systems, Intelligent Systems Analysis and Data Mining have also emerged in designing smart city systems and intelligent traffic control system. Also, the collaboration between the faculty members and colleagues from other colleges in the form of the Institute of Transportation and Intelligent Systems has resulted in high success in the study of the major national scheme of the design of intelligent transportation systems which has resulted in the issuance of nine national documents for assignment in various areas related to intelligent transportation which have been sent to organizations such as the Road Administration and the Municipal Organization.
The research chancellor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science said that the number of faculty members is close to 43, adding that at present, we have 4 postdoctoral researchers working in this faculty.
